RUMFORD (AP) -- Two former high school honor roll students have pleaded not guilty to murder charges stemming from the shooting to death of two men in their Rumford home.

A court clerk says that Richard Moulton, 20, and Erik Hamel, 19, both of Mexico, entered the pleas Tuesday in Oxford Superior Court in Paris.

The two were charged a day after 22-year-old Victor Reid Sheldon and 48-year-old Roger Leroy Day Jr., were found shot to death on August 3.

Court documents say Hamel and Moulton were seeking revenge because Sheldon allegedly assaulted his estranged girlfriend, who'd begun dating Moulton.
